Wolf
models is the companion range to Hornet. It was set
up by Nic Adams, who commissioned several different sculptors
to produce a wide ranging series of mainly resin models.
The
1:35 scale items are predominantly WW2 subjects and all
in resin with a few metal accessories. The American Civil
War and Napoleonic figurines are to 1:32 scale, and several
of the ACW subjects are made in metal. The busts are all
to a 1:9 ratio, and are in resin. All the busts have a
resin circular base included.
As
a general rule, where a kit contains a part which does
not lend itself to resin production, that part is provided
in some other more suitable medium. As a typical example,
you may find that a box contains a resin figurine but
has a metal rifle or sword!
Many
of these kits contain small parts which could be harmful
if swallowed or used inappropriately. They are not recommended
for children under 14 years old. The suggested adhesive
is superglue.
A
word about scale: We always give the scale as a ratio,
and try not to use vague terms such as '54mm'. As a guide,
what some manufacturers describe as 54mm approximates
to 1:32 scale, although this can vary a little. It is
simple and easy to check our accuracy of modelling - 1mm
(or inch) of actual dimension on a 1:35 model should represent
35mm (or inches) on the real thing. Short men are smaller,
tall men are longer - just like real life, but their equipment
will not vary because we care about accuracy. Sometimes
you will see the ratio expressed as a fraction, (eg 1/35)
but it means the same!
